Haven’t posted in a while, so I just want to do a little update.

I’m not really sure what my future is going to hold. Everything seems so uncertain. Where am I going to end up? Am I going to get a good job? Am I going to go somewhere in life? Am I going to become some mediocre desk worker that is just a gear thats driven and driving other gears in and endless machine? I have no idea.

Well one of those questions is being answered. In the most likely of cases, I’m moving to Houston with my girlfriend. Big news right? Not really. It feels right. Just flows so easily. I am kind of happy with it. Although I would like to have the freedom to go anywhere I get a job, it just narrows down options, the less variables right now the better.

Still working out, but the dieting isn’t going that great anymore. I’m going get back in it though.

Robotics is taking over my life again, as seen in the picture below. Mechanically its basically done (first time in my robotics career to be actually done before competition), but now comes programming, and well we don’t really have hardcore CS, EE, or CE majors. We have a few people already working on it, and its basically done, but I want to have it autonomously move around objects. I have to get up to speed on everything going on there.

I just want to build robots, can someone hire me and I’ll give you the most awesome looking robots that work. I’ll put all my heart into it, promise.

Switching my stance from mongo to regular, its a pretty funky transition.

One of my big long term goals is dressing well. I have never been someone who has a high fashion sense. I can’t match clothing or anything, so I’ve been on reddit and the general web reading tons and tons of comments and posts about dressing decent. I would really like to throw out a good amount of my closet and start over, but it is way to expensive. I think I am getting better though. Slowly but surely I’m getting there.

Updates

Haven’t posted in a while so now I’m going to say some shit.

1. On a low carb diet, which is really helping me plan out my meals and eating on a normal schedule.

2. Probably 1b, but I’m taking a really easy awesome 1 credit class this semester and it is…… Intro to Weightlifting! I know its horrible and awesome at the same time. So twice a week I HAVE to go work out for an hour. Best. Thing. Ever. For. Working. Out. I try to go on weekends also, to get 3 in a week and I’ve been going pretty successfully because I got my roommate into working out also so its more motivating. I think I want to try and do some cardio (haven’t done any at all during this semester), but that might get added soon, idk.

3. ok this is 1c, but who really cares? So about 6 weeks into both the diet and exercise and I’ve lost 10lbs (180 to 170) and definitely getting more muscle definition and possibly some muscle growth shall I say? There are a couple goals that are really worked into this.

1c 1. My cholesterol is  way to high. It’s been <270 for a year or so and its because of a crappy diet, not consistent exercise, and family history. Its really unacceptable for me at 21 to have that cholesterol level. Maybe it hasn’t hit me hard enough how high it is but I’m doing something about it.

2. I want to see what happens if I commit to it for a whole semster.

3. I want a fucking six pack.

4. Senior design sucks the time out of my life. I’m doing Lunabotics NASA competition. Its building a robot that digs on the moon. Its pretty similar to FIRST. Well I’m managing/creating the mechanical parts for it, so between that, classes, and work; its hard to find time for anything.

5. Except for changing up my laptop. So I’ve hated that the CD drive on my laptop is just taking up like 1/4 of the space in my laptop. And then I found the optibay! Its awesome! So basically taking out the CD drive on my laptop and putting in a slot for another HD. I bought a small 64GB SSD put my OS on it, have my profile (all my personal stuff eg. movies, music, docs …) and have it on my HDD then BAM. My laptop boots up like there is no tomorrow, apps load quick and I still have space and money. Total cost of everything was $115. Pretty dam awesome. Also my battery actually lasts longer.
